In a lot of apps, switching themes just swaps button colours. In LAM, picking one of five personas changes the entire layout, the typography, and a few of the camera's default behaviours (starting film stock, default skin-tone mode, how the UI moves) — because each persona is built for a different kind of shooter, not just a different colour palette.
Someone who mostly shoots portraits and someone who mostly films food content don't just want different button colours — they usually start from a different place: default skin-tone mode, which film stock loads first, whether monitoring HUDs (histogram, zebra) should already be on. A persona bundles all of those defaults into a single choice, so you don't re-configure everything from scratch every time you open the app.
Picking a persona only applies once, on first choice — it doesn't silently reset settings you've already tuned afterward. Switching persona is a suggested starting point, not a lock on how you use the app.
There's no "correct" choice — only the one that matches how you shoot most often. If you're not sure, just pick whichever aesthetic you'd enjoy looking at every day: every LAM feature works fully under all five personas, none of them is missing capability compared to another.
